Area & Perimeter of 2D Shapes

Now that we’ve learnt about the properties of different shapes, we take it a step further and look at how to calculate the area and perimeter of the shapes, as well as the parts of the shapes that may be combined to make irregular shapes.

This course takes the basics one step further to provide some extended examples and questions for those learners who enjoy a challenge. See you there!

• Lesson 1 60 minutes with Katlego on Tuesday, 24 Oct 2023, 18:00

Perimeter of Polygons

The first lesson will be focusing on the perimeter of different polygons as well as irregular polygons, showing how to divide the shapes or complete them to figure out missing dimensions.

• Lesson 2 60 minutes with Katlego on Thursday, 26 Oct 2023, 18:00

Area of Polygons

In the second lesson, we look at formulae for area for different polygons including irregular shapes.

• Lesson 3 60 minutes with Katlego on Tuesday, 31 Oct 2023, 18:00

Area and Perimeter of a Circle

This lesson focuses on circles. We take a look at the difference between the formula for area and that of the circumference of a circle, then we have some practice questions.

Conversions and Challenges

The last lesson of this section is about converting to different metric units including units squared and cubed. We will then have some challenging questions that combine the work we have done.
